Patrick Dennis to Speak at Oct 1 FAACE Meeting

Patrick Dennis, owner of the Decatur Gallery and co-founder and President of the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, LLC (AFFPS), will be the guest speaker for the Tuesday, October 1st meeting of Fine Arts And Craft Entrepreneurs (FAACE).

Dennis is co-founder and manager of popular and successful festivals, outdoor public art events and shows such as the Chastain Arts Festival, the Spring and Fall Fine Art Festival on Ponce, the Summer Piedmont Art Show and the Sandy Springs Art Show. The foundation hosted 12 annual art events in 2012. Dennis is also a professional artist.

Dennis' talk and discussion at the FAACE meeting will focus on the jury process in art shows, how galleries and art shows work and art marketing.

FAACE group focuses on the business of art. The FAACE mission is to provide a forum for artists to develop their business and marketing strategies while also encouraging their talents and supporting local charities. The impetus for the group came out of a desire by the founders to better balance their creativity with business know-how.

Fine artists and fine crafters from all southern crescent counties are welcome to join FAACE. First time visitors are welcome at every meeting. Speakers at the monthly meetings include gallery owners, festival judges, specialists in fields such as social marketing, insurance, business development, web design and related. The group also hosts a number of art shows and events throughout the year.

FAACE meets on a quarterly basis on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at St. Andrews in the Pines Episcopal Church, 316 Peachtree Parkway, Peachtree City. For more information and directions, please visit the website at www.FAACE.org or call Janet McGregor Dunn at 404-290-3638.

FAACE Member Update: Aug. 6th Meeting and Dogwood Gallery Art Show

Meeting: Change of venue. We will NOT be meeting at Dogwood Gallery. We will be meeting at our usual place, St. Andrews in the Pines, 7 p.m., Tues. Aug. 6th.

Agenda: Since we have so many NEW members we are going to do a mini-art-show so everyone can get to know each other. We MAY have an additional speaker, waiting to hear...

Please bring ONE (1) small piece of your art to "show and tell" on Tuesday. Bring your business cards and/or flyers, etc. Plan to give a 30-second description of your art of choice.

Also, Honey Corbin (our PR person extraordinaire) is going to be taking some photos for a press release. Please wear bright clothing that does NOT blend with your art.

Dogwood Gallery Art Show

We're excited to have the opportunity to showcase some of our member's artwork with Greg Blair and Dogwood Gallery. It's a wonderful Gallery. If you have not been, go visit and share the experience with your friends.

There are TWO (2) different "shows". FAACE members may apply to one OR both. Please read carefully as they each have different criteria.

This is a FAACE MEMBER Show only. You must be a member in good standing to participate in either show.
