We held our first official open meeting last night. We were all pleased with the number of great artists and crafters who showed up to help us kick off the new group.
We decided that next month our first speaker would be Phil Boswell on the topic of insurance for artists.
Insurance is a biggie for most of us --- especially since the vast majority of artists may not even think about it.
Are you covered if one of your shelves topples on someone in your booth at a show? What happens if a storm whips through and destroys your art... would your home owners insurance cover the loss despite the fact that you are a business? Do you teach? Are you covered if someone trips? cuts themselves?
It's a big topic. Most don't even know where to start to find insurance that covers our special needs as artists.
Phil is doing his research and will be speaking specifically on options for artists.
We meet the first Tuesday of each month at the Towne Club Center in Peachtree City at 7 p.m.
